Quick and Simple Paper Easter Baskets

As I mentioned before, I went a little overboard on the baking this easter. So once I had all my cookies made up, I needed a nice way to hand them off to their recipients! I had already gotten some little plastic favor bags from the craft store so the basics were covered. Then, I followed this tutorial to make some little baskets to hold them.

First, I cut out the correct shapes from card-stock. The tutorial recommended a 6″ square but that was a little small for my purposes so I ended up using an 8.5″ square. The math was a little harder but the size was perfect for my cookies. Next step was decorating. I had plain blue paper so I drew bunnies and flowers and chicks and eggs, as was seasonally appropriate. After the addition of some easter grass (and lots of interested assistance from my little doggie), I was ready to add the cookies!

They turned out pretty cute and were a nice festive addition to the holiday. I wound up using my 6″ test basket as a little basket for my mom’s corgi. He was very careful not to rip the paper which I thought was super cute. Here’s how they turned out (with some little cups my mom had made up as well)!
