If you aren’t eligible to donate, which is the case for many folks, please share this page with friends and family who might be! – If even one person donates because of your message – you’ve positively impacted three people in life-threatening situations without leaving the couch!

Our Story

Just before her due date, Bertie and I suffered what’s called a maternal-fetal hemorrhage. For an unknown reason, at an unknown time, an unknown thing happened and her blood began flowing into my circulatory system. The Billings Clinic team in Bozeman acted quickly and performed an emergency C-section. When Bertie entered the world, she was missing four fifths of her blood volume. Thankfully, Bozeman Health had donor blood available. Bertie received blood transfusions immediately and was flown hours later to St. Vincent’s in Billings to receive care in the NICU where she received additional blood and the greatest care we could hope for. Eight days later, we were home with a happy, healthy baby girl who has grown into an absolute force of nature. We couldn’t be prouder of our smart, caring, independent little girl whose life was saved by the kindness of strangers who chose to give blood.
