I’ve been hosting a weekly game night with my cousin and his girlfriend and I’ve challenged myself each week to make a solid dinner for them and myself and my husband as well as most weeks, making a treat. Last week, I noticed 2 bunches of bananas had browned and in the 15 minutes before our guests showed up, I’d opened up this smitten kitchen marbled banana bread recipe that I’d been eyeing and had it in the oven before anyone came over. I made a double batch because we had a zillion bananas (sometimes my husband goes through them like lightning and sometimes he doesn’t touch them) and they turned out beautifully. One slightly more beautifully than the other – the one made in my taller and thinner pan was easier to cut cleanly. I took one loaf to work and it was definitely a hit. The chocolate portion is more dense than the cinnamon portion and it makes for a tasty and slightly-more-fun-than-regular-banana-bread experience. I was surprised at how easy the marbling was – Can’t recommend this recipe highly enough!
